Island Delight's Jamaican Cuisine
All of this cooking artistry is a mix of many influences. There's the taste of Africa, because Jamaica was on the slave trade route. As part of the British Empire, our cooking took on the flavors of India and Asia too. And of course, we use what is native to the region. So we eat fish and goat, pumpkins and yams, and we cook with hot pepper, scallions, ginger, thyme, coconut milk, green bananas, allspice and curry.
Whether or not you're from Jamaica, you can enjoy the flavor of the island right here in town. If you want to taste some authentic Jamaican dishes come and visit us. We guarantee that you will be saying "Irie food, man," by the time you leave. (It means good eating.)
